I guess he can't sing the part on stage but this is absolutly beautiful here. Light, delicate, precise, elegant, really nice.

I tried to compare this performance with an earlier one done also with piano accompaniment but the earlier one had disappeared although the picture remains (henryheno one). This performance may simply seem slower due to the fact that it is done with a piano accompaniment and not an orchestra.

He sings it slower than usual (almost too slowly) and with somewhat more inflection and feeling, possibly because the venue is smaller and more intimate. I would not call it an inspired performance.
