At a time when the nation is looking for work, the state of Connecticut, is adding jobs. With 3,600 salaries added to the state in June, the unemployment rate remained at 5.4% for the second straight month, whereas most of the country's is on the rise. After losing 7,600 positions in the first 4 months of 2008, Connecticut has added 6,900 jobs since then. The largest increases were in Education and Healthcare, but both the Professional and Business markets, who struggled early on, also reported gains. Even the construction business, an otherwise national black eye, saw 300 new positions open up.The Department of Labor believes, it's good news for now, but given the national trend, Connecticut can't rest on its laurels. Rising fuel, energy, and living costs, affect everybody. Even if the state is in good shape now, the country's sputtering economy means no one is safe. http://www.EmploymentCrossing.... |
