Looking Through the Lens. Ch. 4Nick: wow. You look, breathtaking.Kaela: thanks. You don’t look so bad your self.Nick: thank you. So should we start walking? Its about three blocks away.Kaela: sure.Nick: so I like your shirt.Kaela: Yankees fan?Nick: um YA!Kaela: sweet. Me too.Nick: who’s your favorite player?Kaela: Derek Jeter. All the way.Nick: awesome. So how come your parents didn’t come with you? I mean I know my parents wouldn’t let me come here by my self for three days alone.Kaela: Umm, I don’t know.Nick: oh.Kaela: ya. So where do you live? Nick: well right now, California but were getting ready to move to Texas.Kaela: why Texas?Nick: why not Texas?Kaela: good point.Nick: so where do you live?Kaela: Laguna California.Nick: Beach Bum?Kaela: I wish.Nick: what do you mean?Kaela: its just I’m always busy, like I have school every day until three then I go straight to work until around midnight and then on weekends I’m always going some where to do a photo shoot.Nick: I know what you mean. Were on tour and we have interviews and filming for our movie then shows at night and we don’t usually get to sleep until one.Kaela: wow. So when does your tour end?Nick: um, I’m not sure. I know I should know when it ends but we keep adding dates and stuff.Kaela: hey I never said it was a bad thing for you not to know.Nick: oh. Well I just assumed you would think it was lame.Kaela: you shouldn’t just assume that I was thinking you were lame.Nick: ya your right.Kaela: you I’m guessing that your brothers were asleep when you left because you’re here.Nick: ya. Joe and Kevin soon as their heads hit the pillow.Kaela: so why aren’t you as tired as them?Nick: I have no clue. Maybe it was because when I see you I get a rush, and when I look in your eyes I just want to, I don’t know, it’s hard to explain, but when I saw you today I just couldn’t get your image out of my head. You just make me want to forget everything that’s going on and live, and love and I know we’ve only known each other for a few hours but there’s this feeling I get when I’m around youKaela: and it feels like your stomach is in your throat and you get butterflies. You don’t know what to say and you just want to tell that person that you don’t care that it’s only been a few hours and that when you looked me in the eyes my heart skipped a beat and there was this spark and I was counting the seconds until I got to see you again.Nick: exactly.Kaela: I know the feeling.Nick: I still have that feeling.Kaela: me too.Nick: how about we skip the ice cream and just go watch a movie at your hotel. I mean were barley twenty feet away.Kaela: sounds good to me. But are you sure you won’t fall asleep?Nick: I promise I won’t fall asleep.Kaela: okay let’s go.Nick: sweet. [Wow. What was that! I’ve known the guy for…four hours and he already admits he likes me? What’s next a marriage proposal? Ha-ha just kidding. But wow! He is an amazing guy and I barley know anything about him. So, most likely I’m going to be reading the magazines tonight!So we finally got to the hotel and went up to my room. We’re sitting on the bed trying to find a movie and we can’t decide between Get Smart or Finding Neverland. We finally decided on Get Smart because we have both seen Finding Neverland a million times but hey, who can blame us, its an AWESOME movie!! Anyways, back to our conversation(s)]Nick: so were you born in Laguna?Kaela: No, I was born in Las Vegas, but after my grandparents died we moved so we could “start over” as my parents put it. But it didn’t turn out so good.Nick: why not?Kaela: well a year after we moved my mom was diagnosed with cancer, shes kinda lives at the hospital, so I guess when I’m home it just makes me think of my mom and my dad, even though I hate my dad, but it makes me feel lost, lonely, you know?Nick: ya I know what ya mean. We moved to California when we got the record deal and I’m really missing my old house and all the good memories we had in it. It just seems out of place.Kaela: ya. And on top of all that my sister moved out and then it was just me and my dad and that’s when I got a job.Nick: why do you hate your dad so much?Kaela: [crap what do I tell him?!? Oh my dad raped me when I was ten and now he abuses me and he drinks non stop. NO. Not happening] um, we just don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things.Nick: oh. Kaela: ya. So what’s your favorite part about being a rockstar?Nick: hmmm, probably meeting the cute photographers.Kaela: so you do this with all the photographers?Nick: only you.Kaela: well I like hanging out with you. Its fun.Nick: yeah. It is. [Nick did the little “pretend to yawn and put your arm around the girl” move. After a minute or two I laid my head on his cheat and fell asleep.]{I saw that Kaela had fallen asleep so I pulled the blanket up over us and after a few minutes I fell asleep too.}
