Trust me, you really need your protein. It makes a huge difference in muscle recovery and to rebuild your muscle after breaking it down through exercise. My feeling is that it is only 90 days to see a big change in your life. The cost of the program may seem a little high, but it is cheaper than a gym membership. The nutrition part is key so I would really take a 2nd look at this or you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. Good luck.

Dude, there's no way around it. If you don't eat right you will not see results. You don't have to follow the P90X diet, but you do need to eat right. P90X is a proven program. By second guessing it, you may be wasting your time and money. Oh and sorry but you will need an adequate protein intake. Like gottenjet said protein is necessary to rebuild muscle. Good luck with your experiment and I hope you are not wasting time and effort.

Look the purpose for taking in alot of protein is not to use it as an energy source but to rebuild all the muscles that will be broken down due to the work out. Protein is a bad source of energy.
