News Flash: July 31, 2008 - The National(U.S.)Multiple Sclerosis Society has recognized the healing benefits of Cannabis for MS patients! http://www.norml.org/index.cfm... September, 2003 - Having done the first clinical trial(in the late 1970's) demonstrating that THC has anti-spasmodic effects on Multiple Sclerosis patients, Dr. Denis Petro became the authority on THC (the principle Cannabinoid in marijuana) in MS research. Over the next 25 years, seven clinical trials confirmed his earlier findings. However, he also observed that the "monetization of American healthcare" favored "unscheduled" harmful pharmaceuticals over THC (ended up on Schedule 3) and Cannabis (stayed on Schedule 1), as doctors avoided the red tape associated with scheduled drugs. On the occasion of Cheryl Miller's Memorial gathering in Washington, DC, Dr. Petro, consulting neurologist for Multiple Sclerosis Patients Union, attends a press conference focusing on the pleas of MS sufferers who use Cannabis as medicine - calling on the MS Society and America's healthcare establishment to condone the natural herb that works so well for them.Visit the Multiple Sclerosis Patients Union: http://mspu.org(More from this press conference, with Rep. Barney Frank, and the gathering of Cherly's friends at the Supreme Court will be posted shortly.) |
