ok fools, obama couldn't take the cameras in or his campaign something with him! forget it, obama has no respect at all for our military! obama got off the plane in iraq and didn't even look at the military that were there when the plane landed! one went to sake his hand and he just walked by never giving not even a glace! face it, he's a hatefull muslim that wants this country for his terriost friends!

Well you see, they're in the campaign mode. Now I think they were actually told not to go, but even if your account is correct, any appearance by OBAMA anywhere is pretty much a campaign event. Just hearing that he went would've had media asking his people questions and it's bound to come up, AGAIN, that Obama didn't vote for the Bush/McCain war, hence making Bush/McCain at least by implication responsible for wounded soldiers. They may be responsible, but I'd just like that visit post-election

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said Obama would have been required to conform to the Defense Department prohibition of political activity, but that the senator was never told he couldn't visit the hospital.

Dude, do you realize that if Obama would've met the wounded troops, it would've been a cheap shot at McCain & Bush since "technically" they're the ones who sent the boys out there believing Iraq got nukes/WMDs. Politically Obama would've benefited from going, but the right thing to do is for Obama & McCain to stay away from our soliders' hospitals. Our boys have sacrificed enough. Obama can make the trip as President, but during the campaign, the right thing to do is to respectfully stay away. |
