Transcript:"Here are a few things to think about next time you pull up to the pump. The U.S. actually has more oil resources than Saudi Arabia. But Congress has put up to 85% of these resources off limits. Cuba is drilling for oil off the Florida coast but Congress continues to stop U.S. companies from doing the same thing.Mark Udall has consistently voted to block the development of American energy. Udall voted against opening a fraction of our domestic resources to exploration. He voted against building new refineries. And Udall opposes developing our vast oil shale reserves. So, then, how can we be surprised when the Wall Street Journal says gas could go up $6 a gallon? Call Mark Udall at (303) 650-7820. Tell him to vote yes on H.R. 6108. Tell him to stop blocking American energy.American Future Fund is responsible for the content of this advertising. Paid for by American Future Fund. Yes, the US has FAR more oil resources than Saudi Arabia when you include shale oil, tar sands, and coal to oil. Now with gas prices over $100 a barrel it is economically viable to use these resources, unlike just a couple years ago. Oil companies don't have a problem with finding new sources of fuel, its finding cheap ways to extract them that takes time and money.

The US has more resources than saudi arabia? what are these righties smoking?

only between 1% and 9% of the money big oil gets out of are pockets going into finding new oil and even less of that going into new types of fuel like biofuels. over 50% of the money they make goes righ into there pockets. can anyone but me see anything wrong with that.
