Also strangely my earth is round, my earth travels around the sun, sickness is caused by bacteria not the devil. Earthquakes are when tectonic plates shift against each other, not when the invisible man is angry with me. I can see how you would think I'm clearly am clueless about how my world works what with all this lunatic babble based in stupid science. I mean what has science ever done for us(spins finger around temple) PS wher your sick you better pray not go to hospital cause yeah science

Well dear if you're going to tell me that "the magic invisible man did it" vs what scientists think, well then call me stupid but evidence based facts win me over. Gullible as I am to believe rectifiable, repeatable methodology, I long for the day I'm smart enough to believe in fairytales that have existed only a fraction of the time we have as a species. Oh yeah and you just got pwned....

You KNOW there is no God?!?!*Gasp*Then of course this implies that you have evidence...Praise Science! We've finally found the one person who's got it all wrapped up?! And what's more, it all comes with a tranny site!!!!! WoooHooo!!!GTFO.

To be 100% truthful if I believed in god fully and saw a homeless man in the gutter I would not bother to help him. I would think to myself god has a purpose for him being there and if he wants him saved he will.As an atheist I want to help all those in need because I KNOW there is no god to save them. So the reality for me is as a believer I would behave far worse then as an atheist

Wow... did you actually listen to the video? I said that atheists do not have a "christian" moral compass. As an atheist I can say that I don't. "graz" on making a dumbass comment.

atheist dont have a moral compass? LOLdo u think ppl wouldnt help each other without religion? if so, graz u really are one of the dumbest on the planet...

The benefit of the Christian moral compass is the listing of a moral ideal: "Do unto others..." Yes, a large number of Christians have broken this code, even while claiming to sustain it. The thing, however, is that I tend to see that religion is not so much a tangible force as it is a cloak on that force. This force is the mysterious mechanism that you refer to, the source of human acts. With or without religion, the same violence would occur. The same greed.

I would also like to Quote a Philsopher B.C Johnson "The Claim could be made that God has a "higher morality" by which his actions are to be judged. But it is strange "higher morality" which claims that what we call "bad" is good and what we call "good" is bad. Such morality can have no meaning to us. God's "higher morality" being the opposite of ours cannot offer any grounds for deciding that he is some how good.

(2) So the Herd that was able to see "another group" of Humans as "less" human was able to kill them without regrets. These groups had as huge advantage in acquiring resources. So humans crated their own environment were social skills in their own group and segregation from the other group was the superior mechanism in evolution. We have modern moral values that go much further but this model explains from where the feelings, instincts that drives us from time to time came from. |
