not to be a smart aleck, but 96x95 is actually 9120, not 9130, which would mean that one formula, at least, is flawed... the "96 - 5" definitely seems to work, but the "6 x 5" part is the one that fails... not to say that if he had calculated 96 x 75, using that one method, he'd still would have reached the 9130 result, as he totally ignores the first digit of the multiplier
