Its definitely a American Fender Jazz, 2002. I bought it at a local music store for cheap because no one seemed to like the color. However, I love the color, and more importantly, the sound. I fell in love with the bass right away upon buying it in late 2004. I still have the same strings on it from when I bought it. Strings are like a fine wine, the more they age, the better they are. On this recording it may sound more like a precision because of how I have it mixed.

Jason, I also signed up for all of your stuff. This song has a very cool bass line to it. "Great job" as always. Do you do all transscribe your self ? I'm now an "Offical Fan". As I told you before, I work for a major label, (Can't give name in public) Could you send from bio info about you to me ?Blessings,Dr. Greg

Hey Jason, I just subscribed to your videos. Great choice for a transcription! I only just noticed how great this bass line is when I heard it on the radio last night... I had the thought to transcribe it myself! Great playing man. Do you do all your transcriptions by hand? I used to but now I've found that using Sibelius is faster.

I also am a bass player. I prefer the Jazz because, besides the faster neck it is capable of a wider range of tones. You can make a Jazz sound much like a Precision but the opposite is not true.

I've always liked this Bass line but never heard of Tony Williams. Was he a studio musician? Is he still around? Your ability to transcribe so many bass lines so fast show you have a real talent foe it. You should publish your results.

Hey bro, I'm a bass player myself... your Jazz sounds like a Precision! which sets do you use? I'm curiouos... Nice line though...

Yeah! Not only is there Tony Williams the drummer (Herbie/Miles) but theres also a killin sax player from Philly named Tony Williams as well. So now weve got to keep track of three Tony Williams'! Not to worry, each one of them are so incredibly different that it would be close to impossible to mix any of them up:)

Great job! Though in the description I was thrown off by the bass player's name. I know of Tony Williams the famous jazz drummer so I was confused a bit at first :) |
