Following the visit to the railway by HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall on 10th June, the Severn Valley Railway held what amounted to a mini gala over the weekend of the 14th & 15th using Royal train engine 6024 and standby loco 6201. Both locos made two round trips and were joined by 4566 and 42968 on service trains plus 5764 on a one coach charter train and 46443 with the "SVR Footplate Experience". At the end of the day 6024 was coupled up to its water carrier and support coach at Bridgnorth, and made its way back down the surprisingly deserted railway to Kidderminster in preparation for a move to Bristol to work a railtour the following weekend. In the event a broken axlebox casting was discovered on the tender and the move was cancelled.
