No problem. Yeah you want higher calories, but after a certain point it's just excess and will be stored as fat for sure. This guy puts a lot of emphasis on fat loss for his personal goals I think.

oh, thanks a lot. Although, seeing as this is body building wouldn't he want to ramp those calories high? But i get what ur saying about it healthwise

Thanks tgs4224. :) I actually don't like being a real big muscled guy because it starts dropping your range of motion in many ways because the muscle is in the way. Peace and Good Luck in all your goals!

SoulflyzGreat posts. Everyone has different goals and not everyone wants to be huge. In fact, most people would rather have a nice muscular tone body. I work extremely hard at a combination of lifting, cardio, and diet like Vince in this video and I find it humorous that some meathead bodybuilder wants to put me down for that.

Chilibeanking is right on really. Having high simple carbs post workout is great if your goal is to gain lots of muscle, due to the insulin effect and extra energy. You can't gain lots of muscle without gaining some fat though. You need extra calories to build muscle, but some will undoubtedly be stored as fat in the process. It's a tough balance. Lower or no carbs post-workout will force your body to burn more fat for some energy to recover, but it will be a slower/smaller recovery.

It's hard to say without knowing exactly what you are doing at this time. Some people, myself included, have a very hard time keeping fat low. Genetics play a huge part. High Intensity Interval Training, full body workouts (a circuit routine with minimal downtime), and a nutrition regimen that is basically perfect is your best bet. It's hard though and you will no doubt lose some muscle in the process with a lower caloric intake.

My guess is he wants to keep the overall calorie count a little lower, or keep the sugar count within a pre-determined range that fits his body type and goals while still having enough shake to fill him up. It's good to have extra water when consuming proteins too to help keep the kidneys healthy.
