Haha I like your Sean Connery impression :) I wish I could do one as good. Although, the appendix isn't a vestigal organ per se, it's actually part of the lymphatic system, but you don't really need it, if you have it removed, other lympatic tissue in the gut can take over the job.One design flaw I always chuckled about is making the wind pipe the same pipe that the food goes down, how many people has that killed? lol

fellowservant34I would personally classify your brain as a vestigial organ, once useful but now totally fucked up.

Also, Vestigial organs are organs which have lost all of their original function, they can still retain lesser functions.Vestigial does not mean functionless. An example in humans, muscles attached to the ears, although present they are not strong enough to physically move the ears, which was their original function, ergo vestigial.

"The Seeing Eye" is bollocks, pardon my french, since the evolutionary origin of the eye is not only known, it is observed in nature. And it doesn't address the blind spot, since the blind spot doesn't stop existing, and it's still a bad design, so the only question is why would God give "the apple of his eye" such a badly designed eye? There is room for improvement, is God not perfect?Or is the blind spot due to original sin?(By the way, I was being sarcastic in that last sentence)
fellowservant34 (December 31, 1969 at 11:59 pm)
The list of vestigial organs in humans has shrunk from 180 in 1890 to 0 in 1999.

"unfortunately the "vestigial organs" argument doesn't work, because they enjoy making up new functions for those organs."You are so pathetic, you're not even honest enough to admit, because of science, organs once thought to be vestigial, are no longer considered to be so. As far the "blind spot" I challenge you to watch "The seeing eye" located in my favorites.

The first third of Shawn's video was rhetorical nonsense that basically amounted to saying "knowledge changes". Well of course it does. But what's interesting is that he treats it like a positive thing here. In other videos, Shawn has used this changing perspective of science as a sign of weakness, because the scientists can't seem to make up their minds about the age of the Earth and/or the universe. So Shawn tries to speak out both sides of his mouth but ends up talking out of his ass.
