Vor dem Neuköllner Rathaus in Berlin fand am 17. Mai 2008 anlässlich des International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) ein Kiss-In statt. Damit sollte an einem Ort öffentlich Zuneigung und Zärtlichkeit gezeigt werden, der sonst eher nicht für ein liberales Klima bekannt ist. Der Tag wird seit 2005 jeweils am 17. Mai gefeiert. In Berlin hat die Initiative MANEO die Veranstaltung organisiert. Christoph und Sascha, den ich beiden für die Mitwirkung danke, sagen im Film, warum sie bei der Aktion mitmachen.Die Initiative ging von Louis-George Tin aus, der heute der französischen Sektion der International Lesbian and Gay Association vorsteht. Ziel des Tages war es von Beginn an, internationale Aktivitäten zu koordinieren und Respekt für Lesben und Schwule einzufordern. Das Datum wurde zur Erinnerung an den 17. Mai 1990 gewählt, den Tag, an dem die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) Homosexualität aus ihrem Diagnoseschlüssel strich.היום הבינלאומי נגד הומופוביה - הבנ"ה (IDAHO) הוא אירוע המתקיים מדי שנה ב-17 במאי, ותכליתו להפחית את ההומופוביה ברחבי העולם. בעוד שמטרת אירועי הגאווה, היא לעורר את רגש הכבוד כלפי ביטויים מגוונים של מיניות, ולבטל את רגש הבושה העצמית הנקשר אליהם לפעמים, מטרת הבנ"ה היא להביא לדה-לגיטימציה של עמדות הומופוביות, ולמאבק של החברה כולה בביטויה.The international day against homophobia aims to coordinate international events to call respect for lesbians and gays world-wide.
