Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne has been unanimously elected as Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) . The Committee met at 2.00 p.m. today and the Minister was unanimously elected as its Chairman. 16 Parliamentarians of the Government group were present while 15 Parliamentarian represented the opposition. Thereafter, measures were adopted to appoint Minister Seneviratne as its Chairman since it was of no use in taking a vote .
