The 8' Trumpet. The loudest stop on this organ and overpowers everything. Only the Mixture 1 1/3 and the Oboe 8' are in tight competition. Though we're soon looking into having the trumpet revoiced so it blends more. After the organ was moved to this church building from the old one, the Mixture and the trumpet were added. On the previous organ they were in, the trumpet was initially in a swell chamber and now stands out in the open near the front of the pipes, but behind the open diapason 8'. Being particularly a fan of loud organ reeds, this trumpet gets used often by myself, although most of the congregation complains. This hymn starts off first with nothing but the trumpet 8' coupled to the pedal along with the pedal bourdon 16'. The second to last verse of this hymn goes into 3/4 time...
