I spent 6 years in the Coast Guard. All the rescue swimmers are EMT-P certified. They just don't grab a victim and run. And I pray you NEVER have trouble anywhere in your life. Take care.

If you would like to make a difference, join the USCG auxiliary. I'll bet the swimmer is waaay over EMT-B level. He's also responsible for maintaining his own aircraft and equipment There isn't a huge support staff. Considering that the USCG elected to re-moter their Dolphins and declined to buy the newer Stingrays, I don't think that we'll be seeing any newer rescue helicopters soon.

SERIOUSLY? CPR in progress and there is no O2, monitor, IV's, nothing done eroute to Memorial? I understand they have to have a lot of equipment to get people out of the water but you would think somewhere in there you could throw in a Paramedic (hell even an EMT-B) licence and a few medical supplies! Hope I am never in trouble in Corpus Christi Bay

Hi, I was just wondering, i am currently in college at Seneca, Toront , Ontario. I have taken great interest in the Coast Guard, but have had trouble finding alot of information about it, i am a diver that has all my certifications, including ice diving PADI open water advanced, and Rescue diver certificates. Does the Coast Guard take alot of divers for hire?, for search and rescure or any other jobs. If you have the time plz reply to this greatly appreciated Zak.

Really impressive from start to finish. Like the video clips of the boat from the cab and the detail. Good job.
