Thanks, Chuck! I really appreciate you taking the time to record a response. :)Toothfairy Agnostics? Interesting term!:) I likee.A mechanism of comfort is an interesting view on the soul - because it's true, we don't know what it is like to not exist. You've given me a lot to think on, sweetie! Thank you! /big hug/

You might be right, I'm having a hard time finding who used the term originaly. Most of the refernces to it are from Richard Dawkins, but he's acuatly quoting someone else. Huxley is the only name I remember. T.H. Huxley makes sense since he was "Darwins Bulldog" and all.

I think you meant T. H. Huxley; he popularized the use of the term "agnostic" with respect to religion.

That last sentence was poetic, but true.

if an answer is to be found, science will provide it. in fact, i think the "soul" may indeed reside in / emanate from emerging knowledge of the epigentic layer, along with the signals which travel from generation to generation, turning DNA switches on and off. in other words it lives in our genetic meta-memory, if at all. see the BBC The Ghost In You April 2008. we are made of electrified quivering stardust, essentially all light and energy, at the most basic sub-quantum level. |
