One flaw in this argument is that it forgets that beliefs are applied to actions in the world often in a multitude of contexts and a multitude of times. Once one grants that most beliefs have to be adaptive in a variety of contexts, then it seems plausible that true beliefs would be far more adaptive than non-true beliefs, on most occasions.
