I am a dance teacher and have a BFA in dance, specializing in ballet; I also do pointe work and have researched it rather thoroughly, even asking a Doctor who teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology. The feet are not ready at that age: they found out the hard way in the 19th century that girls had to wait to go on pointe after many deformed their feet and effectively ended their dance career.

seven is too young for pointe! she may be a very good dancer for her age, but the body isn't ready....not enough strength in the ankle muscles, plus the bones of the feet haven't completely hardened yet. who on earth allowed her to be strapped into those things?
