This is the 3rd dance I have choreographed now. I've been practicing bellydance for about one year as of this sword dance. I tend to favor improvisation, so when I have choreographed my dances it tends to be a blend of planned moves combined with improvised embellishments....so the frame work ends up being choreographed and the details are spontaneous.I've taken to balancing the sword pretty well. However, the bigger challenge has been figuring out what else to do with the sword besides leaving it on my head the entire time. Another challenge for me has been knowing what to do with my arms and hands. I have made great improvements, but I am still striving to find creative ways to position my arms. This song is by the famous tabla player, Raquy and her band The Cavemen. This song is called "Caravan" from the album titled Jordan. Enjoy...this is a vey inspiring tune with a haunting quality that appeals to me.p.s. Note my sketchy bow at the very end after that intense spinning for my grand finale! *The room was really spinning y'all! hee hee!!!*.
