First of all, why do you need someone else to decide for you what your liberties are, how you can behave, what is right and wrong etc? Secondly, speaking about OUR COUNTRY is separation. I'd be willing to serve under a guy like Paul because I know he'd only send us to war when our security was truly threatened, not for Israel or some hyped-up crap about Iran having nukes. This War on Terror must end, at least at its current state. It's time to go back to regular counterterrorism, not bombing random nations in the Middle East and expanding our empire. The War on Terror is a failure. Counterterrorism and covert ops works. Military intervention does not.

Ron Paul will only send us to war when it's absolutely necessary. No preemptive invasions of Iraq or Syria or Iran or N. Korea. No excessive aid to dictatorial regimes while we claim to be spreading "freedom." We have to be consistent! I say we protest and stop giving aid to foreign nations (even if they are our allies) until they become republics, not dictatorships. Who knows how these dictators are using all the money. For all we know, Musharraf could be buying a bunch of new houses.

There aren't many post-ww2 wars that were worth fighting. Korea was bullshit, and Truman claimed his "authority" was UN agreement on going there. LBJ gave us a shitty "gulf of tonkin" resolution based on misleading info about an 'attack' (can't believe all the congressmen believed that crap w/o proof it happened). We haven't even had the balls to declare war anymore, esp. with the stupid War Powers Act, which is more of a trap than a way to hold the pres. accountable. |
