Just as a hobby. I collect and restore/preserve Cold War sirens, as other people do with old cars or baseball cards. So as not to scare or annoy anybody, I conform to the usual siren test expectations; in this case, every last Friday of the month at noon. Seldom do I sound it any other time, and never at night.

Do you use this for stuff, or do you just set it off for fun?

Wow, that's nice!! Never seen anything like that. I need to consider that when I'm building my siren panel and all for my STORMAlert 1004. I'm starting in the siren business, and just wondering, how was this all set up? I'd like to do this to my siren, and possibly make this an option to people that are interested in my siren.

Your Thunderbolt still hiccups as it winds down. Do you think it could be the brushes or something to do with the chopper motor?

Where is the siren?
kx250rider661 (December 31, 1969 at 11:59 pm)
It was about 1500 feet... You're right; the horn was pointed away from where I was standing. Also, I was up hill from it. Next time, I'll do the same thing, but from about a mile away and in front of the horn.

How far were you from the siren when you sounded it? It sounds like the horn isn't pointed at you. |
