Second test of the electric torpedo for the 2010 National underwater Robotics Challenge. Motor is from the little Attwood bilge pump they sell at walmart, runs on 8 AA alkaline batteries, with a 2" diameter brass propeller. Housing is thin polycarbonate tube, originally used to protect long flourescent lights. Custom machined end housing for motor, using original bilge pump seal and an O ring outside, and 1-1/4" PVC end cap over other end. No fins yet! seems to need a bit of help aiming, or something. http://selectric.org/nurc10

That's a much better view. I think it's pretty straight. Some buoyancy adjustment might be nice. Did you ever catch it, or did the batteries die?
