whats the song??? jbl ARE the best!!! ive got a jbl sub, but not with a horn. Although... it is a loud speaker at the same time

I wouldn't go THAT far. JBL makes great products. The only reason these speakers sounded like they did is because there is a demand for "Budget" speakers for DJs like me. They still sound better than any of the other brands I've heard at the same price.

That was a great demo\tip. Good job. It's very sad to be able to hear such a dramatic difference in a YOU TUBE vid on line with 10 pc speakers. But there it is. The "clicking" turned to a clear human "Clapping" of hands. JBL is now owned by share holders where profit is all that matters. There is no integrity left in the name. But for those who listen with their eye's of the logo, JBL may go the way of Cerwin Vega.

Go ahead and take a horn out, tap it around some. Take the driver off and try again. If it makes any reverberant noise other than what something like, maybe solid wood desk would make, (it will) it's going to honk at higher freqs. and be adding noises to the sound the drivers are reproducing, that are not suppose to be there. Much the same way an acoustic guitar works, but the horn is NOT a tuned instrument designed to produces resonances. A compression driver horn should be as dead as possible. |
