that depends on what you define as praise to God. As you get closer to Him, you start to realise that the sum total of all you know of Him is but a scratch on a scratch. You realise that He is the Mystery of Mysteries - truly the Unsearchable God who made Himself known to us with multiple demonstrations of His Love (the highest thru Christ). Singing of the wonder & mystery of Him is also a praise & adoration of Him since in His Love He 'bothered' to make Himself known to us & gave & still gives!

I'm sure they all just want to write music, but at the same time, write the music for God. Joel couldn't have written songs like From the Inside Out or Your Name High if he was only focused on music.

i think the old ones are better, i noticed that the old one worship and praise God through their songs (lyrics), the new ones... all they think are just music music music...i seldom come across songs written by joel houston that praises GOd and worship God. all i hear is him expressing his don't know whatever feeling like "mystery God"? yeah something like that. i really hope that his point of life (making songs and singing)is not all about music but about praising and worshiping God.
