You're lucky to have such a rewarding career. I have nothing to do with showbusiness, but I can understand how gratifying the admiration of his audience must be for an artist. Sinatra also tried to sing "Lush Life", but gave up. But there's a great Johnny Hartman version on youtube.

I sang pro 30 years ago. I am now 56 y/o, & led a 13 piece Dance Band,& was the vocalist also mostly 20's & 30's Ballroom Dance Band Stock Arrangements. Now I am an Undertaker professionally, but enjoy singing Sinatra, Bennett, Como, & Ronstadt(her Nelson Riddle mid 80's stuff. I sing one octave below her, so I can sing her Mid 80's "Lush Life" & her other Riddle Arrangments as well.) At Karaoke I sing the May/Sinatra Arrangement of "The Song is You. What a great version!Screaming Trumpets!

This dates from around 1956-57. Very intimate arrangement note:Full Strings Violins, Violas, Cello, and Bass Viol, Celeste, & French Norn 6 instruments and of course Frank.I want to sing this at Karaoke soooooobaaaaad!Such an intimate song. Big Band Nelson Riddle arrangements are great but in this case the very quiet and intimate lyrics require intimate treatment which is the caseI have the vinyl of this - I play it a lot.
