Maybe they're just not targeted for adverts. I have no idea what the must-have toys are at the moment, because I don't watch Boomerang. If all you watch is Paxman and Dimbleby, you're not going to know about the new iPod nano and upgrading your phone to 3G. My grandma still thinks corn on the cob is modern.

The elderly just seem to lose interest in learning? They peak in their fifties or something. Whatever technology we have when we're fifty, that's all we will ever know.

My grandad once tried to explain to me how amazing and cutting edge 8-tracks were. And he wasn't talking about at the time they came out, he was talking about how they were still cutting edge in 2000. I don't think he'd heard of cassette tapes, never mind CDs.
